Meet Dr. Chris Baker

Chris Baker, DDS, FAGD

Dr. Chris Baker is a native Texan who was born in Longview and raised in Weatherford, TX. After graduating from Weatherford High School in 2000, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Baylor University in 2004. He went on to further his education and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2009 from the University of Texas – Houston, School of Dentistry.

Ultimately, his commitment to continuing education and clinical excellence led him to complete the Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. This state-of-the-art academic program advanced Dr. Baker’s clinical experiences with general dentistry, IV and oral sedation, implantology, wisdom teeth removal, periodontal surgery, and endodontics.

Dr. Baker loves to volunteer and serve others. He has been a part of dental mission trips to Matamoros and Piedras Negras, Mexico as well as serving his local community. Most recently, Dr. Baker was part of “D-Day for V-Day” where he helped provide complimentary dentistry to our local veterans.

In 2015, Dr. Baker earned his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry. Earning Fellowship takes dedication to dental continuing education (CE) beyond graduation. Only about 6 percent of general dentists in the U.S. and Canada are AGD Fellows. When you see a dentist with FAGD after their name, you can rest assured that they care about knowing the latest techniques and best practices in dentistry. AGD Fellows practice these techniques in a classroom setting multiple times a year — not every dentist does this. To become an AGD Fellow, a dentist must: complete over 500 credit hours of CE, earn 350 of those 500 credits in live courses, and pass an exam equal in difficulty to board certification exams.

Outside of the office, Dr. Baker loves to cook and play golf. He enjoys fitness, supporting his Baylor Bears in football and basketball as well as skiing and snowboarding in the winter.
